The Xunta de Galicia is the executive body of the Galician Government.
The Secretaría Xeral da Lingua (general secretariat for the language) is the department for linguistic policy.
Its main objective is to support the spread and use of the Galician language within the Galician community. The department’s most relevant tasks are to promote the use of the Galician language in the different social and economic fields of Galicia, and to create legislative proposals in order to foster linguistic normalization

Since the language legislation approval, an appropriate framework for using Galician in all social fields is available (regional, local and judicial administration, education, media, leisure, culture and social spheres).
